Poul Ruders VOX IN RAMA

The Trio VOX IN RAMA for clarinet, amplified violin and piano was commissioned by The Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1983.
The piece is a violent scherzo in form of a tone-poem on the screaming despair of these few lines:
In Rama was there a voice heard,
Lamentation and weeping
And great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
And would not be comforted,
Because they are not.
