Soloist(s) and Orchestra
Tones produced on the trombone remind us of our breathing, always building on ancient, well-tried principles.
And we composers take pleasure in the tones that arise through simple changes in the air pressure.
So the composer has a considerable stock of Pythagorean progressions at his disposal.
This in turn creates concertante situations in the course of playing, where much resembles things one has never heard before.
